About 20% of the US canine population suffer from some form of allergies. Food hypersensitivity is the third most common cause of these allergies right behind atopic dermatitis and fleas. Alimentary allergens are almost exclusively proteins. Most alimentary allergens are made of extremely stable molecules resistant to cooking and digestion. Their stability protects their specific amino-acid sequence, which contains the allergen's reactive zones (epitopes). Epitopes are those areas of an allergen that the immune system recognizes, triggering the production of antibodies against that specific protein.

By complying with strict safe food production standards we guarantee that our diet is healthy, nutritious, and free from substances that may be harmful to pets. We at WENAEWE have implemented a thre-tiered system to guarantee that all our diets are not only safe foods but significantly exceed the standards recorded in the Food-Codex. Our system relies on Traceability of all our ingredients, the Exclusion of Allergenic Substances, and the continuous testing of the quality of our products through our Production and Post-Production Quality Control system.
   

To insure the safety of our raw materials we have implemented a program that traces their origin and performs tests of their intact organic quality at every critical point: from the analyses of seeds and the development of crops through the harvest, storage, transport, processing and bagging. Our traceability system maintains a detailed record of all the data obtained at each critical-point analysis providing a history of each ingredient.

  3.2.2 PROPOLIS, A NATURAL PRESERVER:

  Rather than relying on a chemical preserver, WENAEWE uses a naturally occurring substance. Bees produce Propolis out of a mixture of several resins they collect from trees in wild forests to use it as a natural protection from infection in their beehives. Its natural antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities have long been known and used in Eastern medicine. It also has anti-oxidant qualities and prevents respiratory infections by acting as a powerful antibacterial agent upon the mouth and throat.

  3.3 PRODUCTION AND POST-PRODUCTION QUALITY CONTROL

  All our products are tested at our canine lodge where specialized personnel, under the supervision of our scientific team, work testing digestibility, palatability, reproduction, physical condition, and activity level of the pets.
  
  Our canine lodge is also a treatment center where animals suffering from conditions such as diabetes or kidney problems have been treated while being fed our diets. Our clinical analyses of their evolution confirms the reduction of glycemia when the dogs were fed a controlled diet of WENAEWE adult.
  
  We have also detected that our In-Vivo index of digestibility is even higher than the already excellent data obtained in the In-Vitro experiments. The difference between these data must be attributed to our working with organic whole raw materials that preserve intact all their enzymatic factors and co-factors and therefore facilitate a better digestibility of the final product.
